Role Overview
This is a rewarding opportunity to work as part of an interdisciplinary team supporting children (0-18 years) with complex needs, including physical, sensory, intellectual disabilities, autism, and developmental delays.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct comprehensive social work assessments of children and families presenting with a range of developmental and disability-related needs.
* Provide family support, counseling, psychoeducation, and practical guidance to parents/carers.
* Contribute to the development and review of Individual Family Service Plans (IFSPs), ensuring goals reflect family priorities.
* Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team including Occupational Therapists, Speech & Language Therapists, Physiotherapists, Psychologists, and others.
* Assist families in navigating disability services, entitlements, respite, community supports, and advocacy pathways.
* Participate in safeguarding work in line with Children First and HSE policies.
* Build strong partnerships with schools, early years settings, community services, and voluntary agencies.
* Maintain high-quality records, reports, and documentation in line with professional standards and CDNT guidelines.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
* Comprehensive knowledge of social work principles and practices, particularly in relation to children's disability services.
* Strong assessment and intervention skills, including the ability to conduct comprehensive social work assessments.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with families, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, sharing knowledge and expertise to achieve best outcomes for children and families.
