We are now seeking a Senior Laboratory Technician to join our Technical Team based at our manufacturing plant in Virginia, Co. Cavan. This is an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to work at the heart of quality and innovation, ensuring our products meet the highest standards while following a structured development path toward a future Assistant Manager.
Overview of Role
Reporting to and working alongside the Laboratory Manager, the successful candidate will support production by ensuring all quality control testing is completed accurately, efficiently, and in line with agreed schedules.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Conduct quality control testing of all paints to agreed specifications.
* Ensure all finished products meet required quality standards prior to release.
* Print, amend, issue, and manage batch sheets as required.
* Maintain compliance with ISO Quality Standards and internal quality systems.
* Maintain laboratory instruments, calibration records, and batch documentation.
* Perform colour matching and approve paint batches using approved software.
* Support rework of quarantined or redundant stock.
* Carry out plant swabbing programmes and report findings to the Colour Lab Manager.
* Participate in internal audits and prepare audit reports.
* Adhere to Health & Safety, housekeeping, and hygiene standards.
Qualifications, Experience and Skills Required
Essential:
* Experience in a paint, coatings, or chemical manufacturing environment.
* Good knowledge of paint systems and formulations.
* Confident decision-making and strong attention to detail.
* Good colour vision.
* Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office.
* Excellent record-keeping and communication skills.
* Ability to work and communicate effectively as part of a team but also to work on own initiative.
Prefereable but not Essential
* Senior or supervisory laboratory experience prefereable.
* Competency in colour matching software.
* Experience working within ISO quality systems.
* Interest in career progression with a reputable company.
