With over 10,300 colleagues globally and around 1000 in the UK & Ireland we are growing significantly and seeking out the very best talent to join the SYSTRA signature team and be part of leading the way in infrastructure design.ContextWe currently have an opportunity for an Assistant Planner to join our growing engineering team in Birmingham.This position within our team will suit a committed individual who can demonstrate interpersonal skills combined with commercial awareness and the ability to play their part in growing a dynamic high-performance team.  With a focus on the design of High Speed Rail infrastructure the will also support other Product Lines in the UK and overseas, the post-holder will be part of a growing team of UK management staff delivering projects for a diverse portfolio of UK clients.Missions/Main DutiesThe Assistant Planner Will Be Responsible ForInformation both into and from PrimaveraSupporting the identification, reporting and analysing of project issuesAccurate reporting both internally and externallyGood relationships are maintained with all internal and external parties to enhance the reputation of the companyMain DutiesWorking in collaboration with our designers and contract partners, the Planner will be involved in a variety of tasks such as:Working on large multi-disciplinary rail projectsSupporting Tender/Bid PlanningSupporting Project Controls techniques including Earned Value Management, Critical Path analysis.Supporting the delivery of the Period Programme Update and information regarding changes and delays that have impacted the programme on a period by period basis.Supporting the communication of all issues identified within the programme are highlighted and understood by Project TeamSupport the delivery of the necessary reports to allow Senior Managers to direct the project appropriatelyWork on their own initiative, support Progress Meetings and able to communicate clear and concise data to the Project team and the Client.Support Project Controls Trainees and Assistants in developing understanding of Project Controls activitiesExtensive experience of using Microsoft ProductsProfile/SkillsEssentialWorking knowledge of PrimaveraGood command of written and spoken EnglishAbility to co-ordinate across infrastructure projects and global design teams.Analytical and problem-solving skillsKnowledge of financial processes and proceduresWorking knowledge of all PC based Windows environments and Microsoft Office suiteDesirableExperience or interested in working with international colleagues of different technical cultures or on overseas projectsGood command of written and spoken FrenchBehavioural SkillsPositive and enthusiastic team playerMotivated to learn and pursue continued educationAbility to work well as a part of a team (internally and externally) and independentlyAbility to use time productively, maximise efficiency and meet challenging work objectivesRigorous organisation skillsAbility to interact with international colleagues with a different vision and technical cultureExceptional work ethic as well as ability to uphold company values and demand the highest standard of conduct from self and othersPromote equality in the workplace and adopt appropriate behaviour when interacting with colleaguesTake necessary care to properly protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of corporate information from unauthorised disclosure, modification or destruction and never knowingly put SYSTRA's information or information systems at risk
