About Qumulo
Qumulo is the simple way to manage exabyte‑scale data anywhere – edge, core, or cloud – on the platform of your choice. With more than 1,000 customers and exabytes of data under management, Qumulo powers mission‑critical workloads where real‑time access to massive file datasets is non‑negotiable. Qumulo delivers radical simplicity, hardware freedom, exceptional customer support, and a true hybrid‑cloud architecture.
About the Position
As a Senior Data Engineer in Cork, you will be a foundational member of the team building the data platform that powers how the company sees itself and acts on what it sees. You will lead the design, build, and operation of our data warehouse, pipelines, and analytical surfaces to turn data from across the business into trusted, AI‑ready insight for Sales, Customer Success, Finance, and the executive team. This strategic technical role will lay the architecture for an AI‑native, data‑driven business.
Responsibilities
Design, build, and operate the data architecture that captures and stores data from across the business – Salesforce, NetSuite, M3ter, cloud hyperscalers, and Qumulo’s internal monitoring systems.
Build the data warehouse foundations (using tools such as DBT with Redshift or Snowflake) to power analytical surfaces today and AI use cases tomorrow.
Engineer pipelines that route data appropriately and apply cost‑optimization strategies such as storage tiering, Redshift Spectrum/Lake Formation, and compute lifecycle management.
Design schemas that support both RAG architectures and traditional predictive modeling, so AI/ML tools can leverage Qumulo’s data as the company evolves toward AI‑native operations.
Build dashboards in Tableau (or equivalent) that the executive team, Sales leadership, Customer Success, and Finance rely on every day.
Direct the work of UI and dashboard contractors: define technical requirements, run code and design reviews, and keep vendor deliverables aligned with internal objectives.
Partner directly with Sales Operations, Business Systems, Finance, Customer Success, and Engineering to design data flows that span systems and surface insight where it matters.
Own the reliability and accuracy of the data products you ship; participate in code reviews, engage with CI/CD pipelines, and help shape architecture decisions that scale with the business.
Qualifications
4+ years of data engineering or analytics engineering experience.
Advanced SQL, ETL, DBT, data architecture, and workflow management expertise, along with strong Python skills for data transformation, orchestration, and tooling.
Experience modeling SaaS business data (Salesforce Objects, NetSuite ERP, or equivalent) and the nuances of API‑based ingestion, along with cost‑optimization strategies including storage tiering, Redshift Spectrum/Lake Formation, and compute lifecycle management.
A deep background in cloud data warehouses (Redshift, Snowflake, or equivalent), object storage (S3 or equivalent), serverless compute (Lambda, Azure Functions, or equivalent), and modern BI platforms like Tableau.
Experience designing data structures for AI/ML use, including RAG‑friendly schemas and predictive modeling support, and using modern AI developer tools to ship faster without compromising clarity or correctness.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of working alongside Sales Operations, Business Systems, Finance, and Engineering in agile, cross‑functional environments.
A Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Cloud certifications or equivalent experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP) highly preferred.
Benefits
Competitive salary and benefits package, including equity, pension, and healthcare.
Flexible working arrangements, with 3 days onsite and 2 remote.
Reimbursement for home phone and internet.
