We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced M&E Resident Engineer with expertise in Water projects to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing, advising and supervising MEICA Project installations on behalf of Uisce Éireann.
The role involves driving the delivery of projects onsite, focusing on health & safety, time management, cost control and ensuring that the project is constructed to the specified quality standard. The engineer will also ensure that all materials incorporated into the permanent work and all workmanship meet the applicable specifications.
To be considered for this position, you should have at least 7 years' postgraduate experience in site supervision, contract administration and project management of MEICA works on water engineering projects. A degree in a related discipline such as Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is also required.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Specialising in Mechanical & Electrical elements of the works.
2. Driving delivery of projects onsite on behalf of Uisce Éireann, with a particular focus on health & safety, the time for delivery, cost management and ensuring that the project is constructed to the specified quality standard.
3. Ensuring that the works are carried out in accordance with the contract documents (works requirements).
4. Ensuring that all materials incorporated into the permanent work, and all workmanship is executed in accordance with the applicable specification, as set out in the works requirements, and that required testing is carried out.
5. Monitoring and reporting on works being carried out to the Employer's Requirements.
6. Ensuring that the employer's Representative, the relevant Project Manager and Uisce Éireann are fully informed of all issues arising on site.
7. Implementing Uisce Éireann's safety policies and standards on the construction projects.
8. Reviewing and commenting on project/site specific HSQE documentation, e.g. RAMS, TMP etc.
9. Monitoring compliance with Contract Health and Safety requirements and Contractor's proposals.
10. Carry out weekly documented health and safety site reviews, follow up and confirm satisfactory close-out of health and safety issues.
11. Ensuring that any accident or incident on site, no matter how minor, is reported to Uisce Éireann, and actively assist with the accident investigation and implementation of corrective and preventative actions.
12. Actively participating in Uisce Éireann HSQE team's monthly inspections and confirming satisfactory close out of any issues identified.
In addition, you will have excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to work within a team at all times.
