Helpdesk Support Engineer
Role
Abbey Capital is seeking an enthusiastic, organised, and passionate Helpdesk Support Engineer to join our IT team. This is a key role supporting approximately 95 staff members across a dynamic and evolving technology environment. The successful candidate will play a central role in day-to-day IT operations, providing comprehensive support, addressing technical challenges, and contributing to ongoing improvements in infrastructure and processes.
The Helpdesk Support Engineer will work closely with all departments, utilising best-in-class tools and exploring emerging technologies to deliver secure, effective, and user-friendly IT services. This role offers hands-on exposure to systems monitoring, cybersecurity practices, and cloud services, with strong opportunities for professional development.
Abbey Capital operates a hybrid work model, with staff in the office Monday to Thursday and the option to work remotely on Fridays. Our Flexible Working Policy offers flexibility within this structure.

Essential Skills and Experience
* Minimum third-level diploma or degree in an IT-related discipline
* 1–2 years' experience in an IT Helpdesk or similar technical support environment
* Working knowledge of Windows environments, Microsoft365 and network monitoring tools
* Strong organisational, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills
* Ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail
* Demonstrated responsiveness, accountability, and follow-through on assigned tasks
* High level of professionalism and customer service orientation in all interactions
Desirable Skills and Experience
* Experience in endpoint protection, backup monitoring, patch management, and firewall administration
* Exposure to disaster recovery planning and cybersecurity practices (e.g., penetration testing, awareness training)
* Ability to document and enhance IT processes and contribute to internal knowledge base
* Interest in cloud technologies, with progression towards AWS and or Microsoft certification
