Main Responsibilities:
* Lead by example and ensure the highest standard of customer service is offered to all customers.
* Promote a positive atmosphere for customers, suppliers and the team.
* Ensure the merchandising and presentation of the store are of the highest standard at all times.
* Manage all Points of Sale and ensure they contribute effectively to Price Perception.
* Communicate operating standards to all staff members and ensure they understand and implement them.
* Monitor the performance of Fresh Food Departments in conjunction with the Fresh Food Manager.
* Adhere to stocktaking procedures and coordinate quarterly stocktaking procedures.
* Maintain effective ordering processes and prudent stock management.
* Monitor department overheads, ensuring that budgets are achieved.
* Conduct regular staff meetings.
* Provide leadership for Junior Management and staff.
* Liaise with the management team to achieve weekly gross profit, net profit and sales targets.
* Seek opportunities for personal development.
* Manage housekeeping to expected standards.
* Assume store manager responsibilities in absence.
* Have in-depth knowledge of Health & Safety regulations.
