This role will work closely with sales, procurement, technical, and marketing teams to identify market needs, source or develop new products, and ensure successful go-to-market execution.The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of construction materials, supply chain, building regulations, and emerging trends in the construction sector (e.g., sustainability, fire safety, modern methods of construction).Key ResponsibilitiesLead the development and introduction of new construction material products aligned with company strategy and market demandIdentify gaps in the existing product portfolio and develop business cases for new product linesEvaluate and select suppliers or manufacturing partners in coordination with procurement and technical teamsWork with R&D (internal or external) to test product feasibility, compliance, and performanceMarket & Customer InsightConduct market analysis to identify trends, customer needs, competitor offerings, and regulatory developmentsGather customer feedback via the sales team, site visits, and direct engagement to inform product improvement or innovationBenchmark existing and prospective products against industry best practice and standardsTechnical & Regulatory ComplianceEnsure all new and existing products meet relevant standards and regulations (e.g., CE marking, EN standards, fire compliance, thermal performance)Collaborate with third-party test houses and certification bodies as requiredMaintain up-to-date technical documentation, datasheets, and declarations of performance (DoPs)Cross-Functional CollaborationWork with Sales and Marketing to create go-to-market strategies, product launches, and training materialsSupport the Commercial and Procurement teams with supplier onboarding, pricing structures, and stock forecastingProvide internal training to sales, technical support, and operations on new products and key featuresLifecycle & Portfolio ManagementManage the product lifecycle from concept to discontinuationMonitor product performance, margin, volume, and customer satisfactionDrive continuous improvement, including sourcing optimizations, packaging upgrades, or specification enhancementsRequirements5+ years experience in product development, technical sales, or procurement within construction or building materialsFamiliarity with sustainability and compliance standardsProficient in Microsoft office and product/project management toolsStrong knowledge of construction materials and building regulationsCommercially aware with the ability to balance product performance, cost, and marketabilityExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAnalytical and detail-oriented, with strong project management abilitiesCompetitive self-starter, comfortable in a fast-paced dynamic environmentBenefitsCompetitive salaryCompany pension schemeGym membershipEmployee Assistance ProgramBike to Work schemeRefer a FriendMonthly company lunchCompany events throughout the yearOn-site parkingEarly finish on Fridays
