Overview
We are looking for HSE Advisor to join the APC team! This is a full time, in person role, based at our site location at Tarbert. The core working hours are 8:00am-5:00pm (including a 1-hour break), Monday to Friday.
Position Summary
The HSE Advisor is responsible for supporting the implementation and maintenance of EHS systems, policies, and procedures to ensure a safe, healthy, and environmentally compliant workplace, under the guidance of senior EHS staff. In this role, you will be working with other members of the HSE team and will be reporting to the HSE Manager.
Responsibilities
Health & Safety Support:
Assist in implementing workplace health and safety policies and procedures
Conduct routine safety inspections and site walks
Identify hazards and report unsafe conditions or behaviours
Support risk assessments and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs)
Assist in incident, accident, and near‑miss investigations
Help track corrective and preventive actions
Environmental Compliance:
Support compliance with environmental regulations and company standards
Assist in monitoring waste management, emissions, spills, and resource use
Help maintain environmental records and reports
Support environmental audits and inspections
Training & Awareness:
Assist in delivering EHS inductions and toolbox talks
Help prepare training materials and safety communications
Promote safety awareness and positive safety culture on site
Inspections, Audits & Reporting:
Participate in internal EHS audits and inspections
Help prepare audit findings and follow‑up action plans
Maintain EHS documentation, registers, and databases
Support reporting of KPIs, incidents, and compliance metrics
Incident & Emergency Response:
Assist in incident reporting and investigations
Help implement corrective actions after incidents
Support emergency preparedness activities (drills, plans, equipment checks)
Act as first point of contact for basic EHS queries when required
Compliance & Documentation:
Help ensure compliance with legislation, permits, and licenses
Maintain safety data sheets (SDS), permits, and records
Assist with contractor safety documentation and onboarding
Collaboration & Communication:
Work closely with operations, supervisors, and contractors
Escalate safety concerns to senior EHS staff
Encourage safe behaviours and compliance at all levels
