Resident Engineer Community Hospital Projects.
We are inviting applications for a key on-site role in ensuring the delivery of a major capital healthcare project to the highest standards of quality, compliance, and patient-centred design. This position will act as the client's technical representative, ensuring works comply with approved designs, specifications, and healthcare standards.
The successful candidate will have honours level 8 degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering, Architecture, or other relevant technical discipline. They should also have minimum 3 years' relevant post-qualification experience, ideally with exposure to capital construction or public sector projects.
The ideal candidate will have strong understanding of construction standards, technical detailing, and statutory compliance. Excellent communication, reporting, and organisational skills are also required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic project management tools is necessary.
Besides the standard qualifications, familiarity with Public Works Contracts (PWC) and GCCC procurement would be beneficial. Knowledge of Healthcare Technical Guidance Documents, HTMs, or other similar construction standards is desirable.
This role offers training and CPD opportunities within a large multidisciplinary estates team. The starting salary is €60,000 per annum, with the possibility of higher points for candidates with prior public sector service subject to verification.
* Key Responsibilities:
* Act as the client on-site technical representative.
* Monitor quality of construction and materials.
* Attend site meetings and maintain comprehensive site records and progress reports.
* Liaise with contractors, design consultants, and project management teams.
* Oversee snagging, testing and commissioning, and assist in handover and close-out stages.
* Support health & safety oversight in collaboration with PSDP/PSCS roles.
