Operations Manager
SimoTech is seeking a hands‑on Operations Manager to lead facilities, Health & Safety as well as our Quality Management System as the business continues to grow.
This is a high-impact role ensuring our operational foundations enable scalable growth, meet regulatory requirements, and create a professional, high-performing work environment.
You’ll work closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to maintain robust systems while driving continuous improvement across the organisation.
This is a unique opportunity to take real ownership across multiple operational areas in a growing, engineering-led business. You’ll have the autonomy to shape how things are done, improve systems from the ground up, and make a visible impact on how the company scales, while staying close to the day‑to‑day and seeing the tangible results of your work.
This is a fully onsite role, based in our HQ Office in Cork.
Responsibilities
Operations and Facilities Management
Oversee the effective day-to-day running of SimoTech’s office facilities, ensuring a safe, professional, and well‑organised working environment.
Own operational standards within the HQ, driving consistency and excellence through clear processes and accountability.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Lean and Agile) to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance the employee experience.
Establish and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for key office and facilities-related processes.
Act as a central coordination point for facilities-related issues, projects and improvements.
Manage day-to-day procurement, supplier management, in line with annual budget with Accounts team
Health & Safety Management
Own and manage SimoTech’s Health & Safety framework in line with Irish regulatory requirements and industry best practice.
Maintain H&S policies, procedures, risk assessments, and controls for both HQ-based staff and client-site personnel.
Liaise with clients on safety expectations, induction requirements and incident reporting where required.
Coordinate inductions, training and safety communications for HQ staff and client-site based engineers.
Act as the central point of contact for H&S audits, inspections, incidents, and corrective actions.
Quality Management System (ISO9001:2015)
Lead and continuously improve SimoTech’s ISO9001:2015 Quality Management System.
Ensure QMS processes effectively cover both HQ operations and client-site service delivery.
Coordinate internal audits, management reviews and external certification audits.
Track non-conformances and drive corrective and continuous improvement actions.
Work cross-functionally with engineering, HR, and management to embed quality awareness and compliance throughout the business
Key Requirements
Minimum 10 years’ experience in an operations or projects role with at least 3 years in a lead or similar role.
Engineering, building services or relevant trade qualification.
Demonstrable experience representing Health & Safety in an Irish workplace, preferably supported with a relevant Health and Safety qualification.
Hands‑on experience working with or managing an ISO9001:2015 Quality Management System is preferred.
Holds a valid full Irish driving license.
Strong organisational, documentation, and process‑improvement skills.
People Management experience.
