Job Overview
The Senior Accountant is responsible for providing high quality financial information to support management decisions and reporting for Leasing. The role involves preparing journal entries, completing account reconciliations, resolving inconsistencies in the general ledger, and assisting with local and statutory reporting for Leasing.
Primary Responsibilities
* Compile and analyze financial information to prepare general ledger entries on behalf of Leasing.
* Perform statistical analysis to determine trends, estimates, and significant changes to general ledger accounts.
* Resolve inconsistent or inaccurate financial information in preparation of schedules, account reconciliations, and reports.
* Prepare schedules and reports for management, external auditors, and consolidations.
* Perform more complex variance analysis, determine variance drivers and monitor accuracy of IRE results.
* Issue standalone annual reporting documentation for funding facilities.
* Assist in preparation of financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
* Assist in preparation of required statutory reporting in compliance with IRE accounting standards.
* Assist in off‑balance sheet treatment of IRE debt structures.
* Other duties as assigned, including special projects.
Key Interactions
* Analysis to support global management of Element finance by the Shared Services, FP&A and Accounting function.
* Data to inform decisions made by the IRE Executive Team.
Qualifications, Education, and Experience
* Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting required. Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting, and/or ACCA/ACA qualification is preferred.
* Minimum 5 years of accounting experience. Prior experience in Leasing and/or Banking is a strong plus.
* Knowledge of local statutory reporting requirements in IFRS is a strong plus.
* Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook). Strong proficiency in Excel and accounting and reporting systems.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Demonstrate ability to manage multiple priorities, analyze complex issues, develop appropriate action plans, and deliver results in a timely manner.
* Attention to detail to ensure information presented is free of errors and misstatements.
* Experience in SAP or similar ERP systems considered an asset.
