Fresh Food Area Manager – Co. Cork (Munster Region)
Excel Recruitment is currently recruiting an experienced
Fresh Food Area Manager
on behalf of our client, a successful and growing retail business in Munster. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving commercial performance, enhancing food safety standards, and delivering a best-in-class fresh food experience for customers.
Salary:
€55k - €60k
Responsibilities:
* Support and guide stores across all fresh food categories, driving overall performance within the region
* Ensure deli and fresh departments consistently operate to the highest standards
* Develop and evolve location-appropriate menus to meet changing consumer trends and expectations
* Build strong working relationships with Store Managers and teams to foster a high-performing retail culture
* Support stores with stocktaking procedures and profitability controls, addressing underperformance in line with company standards
* Advise management teams on achieving and maintaining strong food safety standards, including the effective implementation and verification of HACCP systems
* Organise and deliver training related to certified food safety management systems
* Work collaboratively with the wider retail support and operations teams to improve performance and execution
* Identify stock loss risks and implement controls to minimise waste, damages, and out-of-date stock
Requirements:
* Previous experience in a retail fresh food environment
* Excellent knowledge of retail-level food safety and compliance standards
* HACCP Trainer qualification is essential
* Full clean driver's licence and willingness to travel within the region
* Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and influence teams
* Proven track record of delivering KPIs and driving performance improvement
* Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational ability
