Position: Mechanical Project Engineer
Type: Permanent
Location: Cavan (onsite, possibility to work remotely 1 day per week)
Parker Stewart are delighted to partner with a leading industrial manufacturer in their search for a Mechanical Project Engineer. This role will suit someone with a background in the heavy manufacturing industry who enjoys managing end-to-end engineering projects and working closely with on-site teams and external contractors.
Key duties:
* Lead mechanical engineering projects from initial scoping and pricing through to installation and commissioning
* Develop cost estimates, source suppliers with the procurement team and installation activities
* Oversee mechanical works related to heavy plant and process equipment such as conveyors, crushers, and material handling systems
* Manage contractors on-site to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget
* Work cross-functionally with operations, maintenance, and technical teams to deliver improvements in plant reliability and performance
Essential experience/qualifications required:
* Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Mechanical Engineering
* Strong experience within heavy manufacturing or process industries such as cement, oil or similar aggregates
* Proven background in contractor management and leading site-based mechanical projects
* Proficient in CAD software and Microsoft Office
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
