Overview of the Role As a Staff Nurse in Oncology, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing cancer treatment.
You will work as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team, providing holistic care across all stages of the patient journey-from diagnosis through to treatment and recovery.
This role offers the opportunity to further develop your oncology expertise in a well-supported environment with access to modern facilities and evidence-based practices.
Key Responsibilities Deliver high standards of nursing care to oncology patients in line with best practice guidelines Administer and monitor Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapies (SACT) where applicable Perform comprehensive patient assessments (physical, psychological, and social) Monitor patient progress and respond appropriately to treatment-related side effects Support patients and families with education, advice, and emotional support Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and infection control standards Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical audits Essential Criteria Registration as a General Nurse on the active register of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) Minimum 1 year's post-registration experience in an oncology setting (essential) Experience in the administration of chemotherapy and/or SACT is highly desirable Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team Commitment to delivering patient-centred, compassionate care Post-registration qualification in Oncology Nursing (or working towards same) Experience in acute hospital settings IV cannulation and venepuncture competency What's on Offer Competitive salary aligned with experience Opportunity to work in a well-established, respected hospital Supportive team environment with strong clinical leadership Ongoing professional development and training opportunities Clear career progression pathways within oncology services Benefits Pension scheme and Death in Service benefit 27 Days Annual leave Critical illness cover Relocation package (where applicable) Generous annual leave entitlement Paid maternity and paternity leave Commitment to work-life balance and employee wellbeing Apply Now If you are an experienced Oncology Nurse seeking a rewarding role in a dynamic and supportive environment, we would love to hear from you.
