Accounts Assistant
We are seeking a highly skilled Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. As an Accounts Assistant, you will be responsible for managing the accounts payable process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial transactions.
Responsibilities:
* Maintain the Trade Creditors Ledger and input all purchase invoices
* Match purchase orders to supplier invoices, resolving any discrepancies
* Adhere to invoice and credit note authorisation processes
* Prepare and execute weekly/monthly payment runs and issue remittances
* Reconcile supplier statements and handle creditor queries
* Maintain the cash book and process daily bank transactions and direct debits
* Reconcile bank accounts across multiple currencies (EUR/USD/GBP)
* Process and reconcile credit card transactions, ensuring correct VAT treatment
* Handle petty cash reconciliations
* Assist with preparation of accruals and statutory returns (VAT, VIES, Intrastat)
* Process employee expense claims
* Maintain accurate filing and data records
* Produce regular reports including purchase/sales ledgers and key performance indicators
Requirements:
* Qualified Accounting Technician (IATI) qualification
* Proven experience in an accounts or finance support role
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail
* Excellent organisational and time management skills
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively
* Proactive, solutions-focused mindset
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Certified in accounting software and MS Office tools
