Key Responsibilities
* Oversee the full lifecycle of assigned projects from initial planning and budget development to scheduling and final delivery.
* Collaborate with design, engineering, and technical teams to ensure projects are executed in line with client requirements, delivered on schedule, and maintained within financial targets.
* Utilise internal project management tools to track progress and ensure all team members adhere to established processes.
* Support effective coordination across all project disciplines, including BIM, engineering, quality assurance, and procurement, while addressing issues as they arise.
* Carry out routine site inspections to monitor performance, resolve on-site challenges, and ensure compliance with quality and safety regulations.
* Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors, including managing contract negotiations where necessary.
* Oversee project finances by controlling costs, monitoring budgets, and preparing accurate forecasts.
* Ensure all project activities meet the appropriate regulations, standards, and industry codes, especially regarding health and safety.
* Establish controls to track, evaluate, and manage approved expenditure.
* Implement cost-management and value-tracking procedures, ensuring accurate and timely commercial reporting for senior leadership.
* Work closely with directors and site management teams to identify risks, recommend solutions, and support strategic decision-making.
* Prepare weekly project updates for clients and engineering management.
* Produce monthly progress reports for senior leadership.
* Collaborate with senior management to help support ongoing business objectives.
* Promote effective, cooperative working relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Requirements
* Degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering
* 5 years' experience in a Project or Contracts Manager role within the mechanical or HVAC sector
* Strong understanding of mechanical, HVAC, and process systems, including design principles, installation practices, and operational requirements.
* Proven project management capability across planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk mitigation.
* Ability to handle multiple ongoing projects and perform well under pressure.
* A full, clean driving licence.
