You'll work at the heart of complex urban infrastructure programmes, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and key stakeholders to drive innovation, manage risk, and deliver solutions that strengthen resilience for generations to come.Role Purpose & ScopeAs an NEC4 Assistant Project Manager, you will play a key role in delivering major strategic water and wastewater projects in Dublin, introducing and administering the NEC contract framework within the Irish Water Sector. Acting on behalf of the client, you will manage contract administration under NEC4 ECC, issue instructions and notifications, and foster collaboration among stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution. You will proactively manage risks through the NEC early warning system, make impartial decisions on contractor submissions and compensation events, and maintain programme control using tools such as MS Project or Primavera. The role involves overseeing complex works including tunnelling, pipeline installation, and associated civils in dense urban environments, with contract values ranging from €10m to €200m. You will work within a multidisciplinary team of 5–10 professionals and engage with key stakeholders such as local authorities, utility owners, statutory bodies, and community representatives to deliver critical underground infrastructure that enhances service resilience and minimises disruption across Dublin.Your Impact in this PositionIn this position, you will directly influence the successful delivery of critical underground infrastructure that strengthens Dublin's water and wastewater networks, reducing disruption and improving long-term service resilience. If you feel you meet 75% of the requirements for this role, we would love to hear from you.NEC Contract & Commercial ManagementFull practical knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 clauses and procedures; administer early warnings, programme submissions, compensation events and change control.Maintain accurate contractual records, prepare notifications, and lead commercial discussions and negotiations.Forecast cost exposure, manage budgets and reconcile subcontractor claims.Tunnelling & Pipeline Technical DeliveryHands‑on understanding of micro-tunnelling, pipe jacking, TBM, trenchless techniques, and conventional open-cut pipeline installation.Manage geotechnical, groundwater and temporary works risks; coordinate ground investigation inputs and mitigation measures.Drive quality assurance and commissioning for pipelines and connections.Leadership, Safety & Programme ControlLead multidisciplinary teams in high‑pressure urban sites; ensure competent supervision and clear responsibilities.Ownership of H&S performance; champion Safe Systems of Work, permit-to-work systems, and emergency planning.Maintain and control programme (MS Project/Primavera), identify float, drive recovery strategies and report progress to senior stakeholders.Qualifications & Experience:Essential:Degree in Civil/Geotechnical/Construction Engineering or equivalent experience.NEC3/NEC4 training or certification.Safety training (NEBOSH or equivalent) and Safe Pass.Project management training (APM/PRINCE2/PMI desirable).Valid driver's licence.Beneficial:Chartered Engineer status or professional membership.Experience with Irish utilities and local authority standards.BIM/digital delivery experience and proficiency in Primavera P6/MS Project.Submit your application today and discover what's possible at Tetra Tech RPS Consulting.In alignment with the Equality Act 2010, we will make reasonable adjustments to support candidates and employees requiring additional arrangements.
