Job Title: Maintenance Team Manager

About the Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of technicians in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. As a key member of our maintenance department, you will be accountable for delivering daily LRV maintenance and ensuring the availability of our fleet.

Key Responsibilities:
- Organise shift schedules with available technicians to achieve daily production plans
- Monitor team activity and provide clear short-term objectives to ensure timely completion of tasks
- Make decisions on priority based on headcount and resource availability
- Participate in depot meetings to review KPIs, staff issues, training, and company situation
- Lead start-of-shift, mid-shift, and end-of-shift briefings to inform team members of important updates
- Conduct monthly/ bi-monthly team meetings to discuss KPIs, staff issues, and company situation
- Ensure clear handovers between shifts using company tools
- Communicate with team members on procedures, safety protocols, and new HR policies
- Enforce safety rules within the workshop, including PPI, LOTO, workwear, etc.
- Manage annual leave and absence trackers in line with HR processes
- Address absenteeism and performance issues in accordance with HR practices
- Provide support across the business as needed
- Develop MSTs in the depot, including technical and personal development
- Oversee annual reviews for team members
- Lead quality surveys of paperwork and work orders
- Participate in recruitment interviews to select future team members
- Ensure a smooth onboarding process for new team members during their probation period

Workshop Management:
- Prepare depot layouts for tram operations to ensure team efficiency
- Work closely with the control room to manage tram movements and allocate resources
- Collaborate with infrastructure on works planning and modification
- Maintain a tidy and well-organised workshop to prevent safety issues
- Assist in controlling asset calibration
- Draft purchase requests for tooling, PPE, and workwear in line with company rules
- Propose lean projects to improve workshop efficiency

Maintenance Tracking:
- Track daily maintenance on tramways
- Ensure daily routine maintenance, exams, modifications, reliability projects, and overhaul programs are completed correctly
- Organise Daily Service Sheets using company IT systems
- Respond to control room queries on tramway availability and troubleshooting
- Review defects and assign priorities as needed
- Decide whether trams can be put into service
- Open and close corrective and preventive work orders as required

Parts & Supplier Management:
- Maintain accurate records of serial numbers for maintenance purposes
- Pick up parts from stores when necessary
- Provide feedback on prices and costs to ensure optimal decision-making
- Place parts in the repair loop after completing forms

Maintenance Management and Expertise:
- Drive continuous improvement in operational and technical aspects of LRV maintenance
- Provide documentation for preventive tasks or trouble-shooting
- Contact the Fleet Coordinator for additional documentation
- Follow depot processes and work with the Process Manager to improve maintenance procedures
- Share technical skills with team members
- Perform audits as required by O&M contracts, safety, or internal criteria

Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong leadership and influencing skills
- Ability to understand trends and reports, and respond accordingly
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Technical or business qualification
- Minimum five years' experience in a technical company, preferably with management/supervisory experience
- Strong working knowledge of Irish Health & Safety and Environmental legislation
- Knowledge and experience of Tram systems (or other rolling stock) is recommended
- ICT skills with good knowledge of maintenance management system, MS Office

Working hours: 39h/week contract, on shift 7 days a week, night and day following roster. On-call and emergency: On-call or emergency out of work are to be considered 1 week per month.
