Purpose of Position To coordinate the Community Families Programme in Grangegorman and Dublin Docklands The Community Families Coordinator plays a key role in planning, coordinating and delivering the Community Families Programme in Grangegorman and Dublin Docklands.
Central to this role is building strong relationships, promoting community engagement and ensuring the programme meets the diverse needs of families.
Reporting to: Grangegorman Senior Specialist & Community Families Senior Specialist Key Relationships: Community Families Coordinator Grangegorman Senior Specialist Community Families Home Visitors Assistant Director/Director of the Early Learning Initiative Early Learning Initiative team ABC staff ABC Consortium members Organisations implementing ABC programmes in Grangegorman National College of Ireland Stakeholders in the local community, including parents, children and practitioners National Community Families lead agency staff Community Families Senior Specialist Key Responsibilities Programme Development and Delivery: To recruit, hire, train and induct new Home Visiting Practitioners Supervising and supporting Home Visiting Practitioners Mentoring and coaching new and existing Home Visiting Practitioners.
To plan and deliver ongoing Home Visitor training.
Undertake home visits for own programme families (caseload of 1-2 families).
To order stock and organise deliveries of books and toys.
To recruit, interview and select families to participate in the programme.
Administration and Reporting: Prepare and maintain records, reports and/or test data on the programme and participating children.
Participate in research activities.
To assist with the management of the Community Families budget and accounts.
Community Engagement, Partnerships and Networking: Participate in local networks, interagency meetings and community events and liaise with a range of stakeholders including PHN, Tusla, Maternity Hospitals, PCHP, CES, Pobal and other statutory and voluntary bodies around the development of the Community Families Programme and opportunities for shared learning and collaboration.
Use an interagency approach to address challenges faced by families, attend and lead Meitheals for programme families in addition to attending case conferences where required Organise and implement events for the programme families in conjunction with other Home Visiting and Parent Support team members.
To organise, plan and post on ELI's social media platforms.
Any other duties as assigned by the Grangegorman Senior Specialist, Community Families Senior Specialist, ELI Director or Assistant Director.
Skills and Experience required: Relevant 3rd level qualification e.g.
Early Years Education, Education, Social Care, Psychology etc.
Minimum of 2 years' ex perience of working with children, young people, families and statutory agencies.
Experience supervising staff, facilitating meetings and delivering training.
Excellent communication skills including active listening, modelling and non-verbal cues.
Reflective practitioner.
Ability to work with marginalised families and have an understanding of the issues of marginalisation Excellent administrative and organisational skills Excellent IT skills in Ms Excel, Ms Word, CRM systems and other relevant research packages etc.
Professional interest in early years education and family-based learning.
Ability to deal effectively with a wide variety of college personnel, statutory, community and corporate stakeholders and other outside individuals/organisations Flexible approach to work as evening and weekend work may be required Ability to operate as a team player in a cross disciplinary, integrated team, sharing roles and responsibilities An energetic, confident and pro-active individual with strong interpersonal and communication skills Good time management skills with the ability to produce results to deadlines.
