The successful candidate will report to the Director of Nursing, Mental Health Services.
Purpose Of The Post / Post Summary
The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON), Mental Health Services, plays a pivotal leadership role in developing, organising, and delivering safe, evidence-based, and recovery-focused mental health care. The post holder will ensure that services are planned and delivered to achieve high-quality clinical outcomes while maintaining strong governance, oversight, and regulatory compliance.
The role involves supporting the Director of Nursing in the ongoing development and continuous improvement of mental health services across the Approved Centre and associated units. The ADON will provide visible clinical leadership, promote a recovery-oriented culture, ensure adherence to Mental Health Commission (MHC) requirements, support staff development, and uphold the highest standards of mental health nursing practice.
Qualifications And Essential Skills
* Registered as a Psychiatric nurse with NMBI
* Minimum 5 years post-registration nursing experience.
* Minimum 3 years management experience
* Have a master's in healthcare management or similar desirable, or be willing to undertake a Masters if successful.
* Evidence of continuous professional development.
* Experience in service development
