Job Summary
The Shop Student will work under the direct supervision of experienced technicians, assisting with various tasks in the shop. This role is designed to provide practical experience and a foundational understanding of auto body repair processes, shop operations, and safety procedures.
Responsibilities
* Ensure the shop remains clean, tidy, and organized.
* Assist with vehicle movement within the shop and lot.
* Learn and adhere to all shop safety protocols and procedures.
* Assist in detailing vehicles as required
* Observe and learn various repair techniques and processes.
* Assist technicians with vehicle disassembly and reassembly.
* Help prepare vehicles for repair, including cleaning, masking, and taping.
* Support with sanding, and basic bodywork tasks.
* Organize and maintain tools and equipment.
* Perform other duties as assigned by technicians or management.
Qualifications
* Currently enrolled in a high school or post-secondary program, preferably with an interest in automotive, trades, or collision repair.
* Strong willingness to learn and a positive attitude.
* Ability to follow instructions accurately and efficiently.
* Basic understanding of tools and mechanical concepts is an asset, but not required.
* Reliable and punctual.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
* Valid G2 or G driver's license preferred (for vehicle movement, if applicable).
* Ability to lift and move objects as required by the job.
