AMS Ltd. is a growing fabrication and manufacturing business supplying welded and fabricated products — including certified fuel and hydraulic oil tanks — to major OEM customers across Ireland and Northern Ireland. With increasing repeat work and in-house cutting, folding, and fabrication capability, AMS is strengthening its quality systems to improve right-first-time manufacturing.
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Quality Engineer to take ownership of manufacturing quality from cut and fold through to finished product.
This is a hands-on, shop-floor-based role, focused on preventing defects rather than inspecting them at the end. The successful candidate will play a key role in improving dimensional accuracy, fabrication quality, jig control, and tank testing processes.

Implement first-off checks for cut and folded parts
Ensure parts meet dimensional and tolerance requirements before release to fabrication
Improve kitting accuracy to ensure correct parts, quantities, and revisions are issued
Prevent non-conforming parts entering fabrication
Jigs & Repeat Manufacture

Define critical datums, clamping methods, and inspection points
Support the design and manufacture of jigs for repeat production
Approve jigs prior to release into production and sign off first-off parts
Welding & Fabrication Best Practice
Monitor welding sequence, heat input, and distortion control
Work directly with welders and fabricators to improve build quality
Ensure fabricated assemblies meet drawings, tolerances, and specifications
Tank Pressure Testing & Decontamination
Oversee pressure testing of fuel and hydraulic oil tanks
Ensure testing procedures are correctly followed and recorded
Control and verify tank decontamination and cleanliness processes
Ensure tanks meet internal standards, customer requirements, and certification expectations
