Location: Dublin / Nationwide Site TravelDuration: 18 Months - Daily Rate ContractOverviewOur client is seeking a Project Engineer to support the delivery of engineering improvement projects across hydroelectric power stations as part of a major Sustainable Rivers programme. This role will focus on coordinating and managing fisheries and infrastructure improvement projects across ESB hydro sites on the Shannon, Lee, Liffey, Erne, and Clady rivers.This is a hands‑on project engineering role involving full project lifecycle delivery from concept and design through procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover.Key ResponsibilitiesManage engineering projects through all project phases including design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handoverDevelop and manage project scopes, schedules, budgets, specifications, and risk registersCoordinate contractors, site inspections, and on‑site supervision activitiesReview contractor Method Statements, Risk Assessments, and H&S documentationEnsure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to required quality standardsSupport tendering, contractor selection, and contract award processesCoordinate project delivery across hydro station environments and operational teamsMaintain project documentation, drawings, and reporting requirementsPromote strong Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards across all activitiesRequired Experience & SkillsDegree qualified in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related Engineering disciplineProven experience delivering engineering or infrastructure projectsStrong understanding of project management principlesExperience managing contractors and site‑based worksStrong Health & Safety awareness and understanding of HSE legislationExcellent stakeholder management and communication skillsStrong reporting and documentation capabilityGood IT skills across MS Office and project/engineering systemsFull clean driving licenceFlexibility to travel nationally to hydro station locations is essentialExperience within utilities, power generation, renewables, infrastructure, or other regulated environmentsExperience working on environmental, water, civil, or sustainability‑focused engineering projectsAdditional InformationBase location: Dublin City CentreRegular travel to hydro station sites requiredSafePass and Manual Handling certification requiredPPE and site safety compliance essentialCandidates must have access to a vehicle and suitable remote working equipment
