There is currently 1 permanent whole-time vacancy available in Children's Disability Network Team (CDNT) Network 1, Bethany House, Carlow, Co.
Carlow
A panel may be formed as a result of this campaign for Occupational Therapist, Clinical Specialist, CDNT from which current and future, permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full or part-time duration may be filled.
Purpose of the Post
The Clinical Specialist will have specialist clinical knowledge and skills in the area of complex developmental disability.
The post holder will carry a clinical caseload and may be required to facilitate the role of Key Contact for some cases within the CDNT, along with participating in other critical team working roles and processes.
S/he will promote and demonstrate best practice in particular within the area of management of complex disability and will facilitate the integration of current and relevant research theory into practice through an advanced level of clinical reasoning and decision-making.
S/he will act as an advanced clinical resource to the Senior and Staff Grade Occupational Therapists and other members of the interdisciplinary Carlow CDNT team in particular for complex cases for children with sensory, functional and behavioural challenges that require in-depth level of clinical reasoning in order to best support their function, participation and independence.
In doing so s/he will promote interdisciplinary working in the area of complex disability.
The post holder will take a lead role and participate in the interdisciplinary development of care pathways and service standards for complex disability.
This will include planning and development of cross-site integrated working processes.
S/he will participate in research and service evaluation as appropriate.
The post holder will be responsible for developing and facilitating clinical pathways in response to identified needs of the caseload e.g. Floortime, Complex Seating and Postural Management.
