We are currently seeking a Senior Construction Manager to work with us on a project in Ireland.
Responsibilities
Oversee construction throughout all project phases
Promote and enforce strong safety standards
Ensure timely delivery to project specifications
Collaborate closely with planners for productivity
Develop and track project schedules and milestones
Monitor progress, address delays, and implement recovery plans
Coordinate resources for effective timeline adherence
Ensure compliance with contracts, standards, and safety regulations
Conduct recorded safety tours and inspections
Oversee quality assurance and readiness surveys
Regular site visits for progress evaluation and reporting
Manage Inspection and Test Plan implementation
Assess contractor staff competence continually
Serve as primary contractor liaison
Provide consistent updates on progress, risks, and solutions
Recommend cost-effective solutions and resource optimization
Complete additional duties as required
Qualifications
Minimum 10 years' professional experience with at least 5 years' in specialism including Construction, Engineering and Management in large scale multidisciplinary railway engineering and construction projects, or projects of a similar nature
At least Higher Certificate degree (or equivalent) in relevant subject area e.g., engineering, construction, project management or Ordinary Bachelor's degree in a relevant field would be advantageous
Additional Professional Qualifications in Engineering or Construction/Project Management would be advantageous
Professional Membership in MCIOB or MICE (or equivalent)– or working towards this
Proven capability in delivering complex infrastructure works
Stakeholder management experience on major projects
Deep knowledge of Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations ****; railway project experience
Track record in promoting and maintaining high health and safety standards
Experience implementing health, safety, environmental, and quality management processes
NEC 4 Contract suite expertise and commercial awareness
Ability to contribute to project delivery and commercial strategy development for large-scale initiatives
Strong and effective team leadership and stakeholder communication
Expertise in developing and managing project plans and schedules
Strong understanding of railway construction processes and materials
Skilled in risk identification and mitigation
Ensures compliance with quality standards and safety regulations
Adaptable to challenges and changing conditions
Proficient in cost monitoring and resource allocation
Knowledge of engineering and construction assurance, with ability to assure works from technical drawings
