Automation Systems Engineer
This role focuses on supporting and enhancing automation systems across a range of manufacturing equipment.
* Diagnose and resolve issues on floor equipment including CNC, coating, and packaging machines
* Conduct code reviews on legacy PLC systems and improve documentation for future diagnostics
* Support automation teams by training engineers on code troubleshooting techniques
* Collaborate on the ongoing development and expansion of automation systems
The ideal candidate will have a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, 4+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment with a strong focus on automation, and proficiency in ladder logic and experience with multiple PLC platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and resolve issues on floor equipment including CNC, coating, and packaging machines
- Conduct code reviews on legacy PLC systems and improve documentation for future diagnostics
- Support automation teams by training engineers on code troubleshooting techniques
- Collaborate on the ongoing development and expansion of automation systems
- Work with a variety of PLC platforms including Allen-Bradley, Siemens, ABB, Fanuc, and Mitsubishi
Requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline (Level 8 or equivalent)
- 4+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment with a strong focus on automation
- Proficiency in ladder logic and experience with multiple PLC platforms
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
