The
Development Scientist II
for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for preparing and planning studies for the development, evolution and optimization of in-vitro diagnostic assays.

This position is part of the R&D department located in Lismeehan, O'Callaghan's Mills, Co. Clare, Ireland. At Beckman Coulter, our vision is to relentlessly reimagine healthcare, one diagnosis at a time.

You will be a part of the Development Science team and report to the Manager, Development Science who is responsible for managing R&D product development teams and is accountable for technical project direction, project planning and decisions within their area of responsibility and for setting project goals and milestones within the team in line with the corporation's objectives. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

* Follow standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained
* Participate in the analysis, design and development of system applications.
* Participate in simple process improvement projects.
* Report status of experiments to supervisor, writes simple experimental reports/protocols with supervision, gives small data presentations
* Train new Development Scientists on Instrument set up/maintenance and department processes
* Provide quality assurance for adherence to technical standards.

The essential requirements of the job include:

* BSc (Level 8). or equivalent; with a minimum 2 years relevant experience, or MSc (Level 9) or equivalent with 0-2 years relevant experience.

It Would Be a Plus If You Also Possess

* Experience in a GLP/GMP laboratory environment
* Knowledge of analytes, reaction mechanisms and performance claims
* Experience in training/mentoring junior team members
