Hamlyn Williams is currently working with an industry-leading pharmaceutical company to place an experienced Automation Engineer to support and optimize automation systems in a GMP manufacturing environment. This role is located near Dublin and being offered as a 12-month contract with the view to extend.
Responsibilities:
* Overseeing automation systems and ensuring high reliability and performance.
* Managing user access, performing system backups and restores, and implementing corrective actions as needed.
* Leading small-scale improvement projects to optimize system functionality.
* Collaborating with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve technical issues.
* Supporting capital projects from concept through execution and documentation.
* Maintaining compliance with corporate and site-level Quality Systems.
* Creating and executing engineering documentation, including test scripts and validation reports.
* Supporting global automation strategy initiatives to drive standardization and long-term improvements.
* Providing technical leadership and contributing to the development of site automation capabilities.
What we’re looking for:
* A degree in Engineering (Automation, Robotics, Computer Science, or related field) or equivalent experience.
* 3-5 years’ experience in GMP manufacturing, with strong automation expertise.
* Deep understanding of pharmaceutical processes and regulatory requirements (GxP, QA).
* Proficiency with automation platforms such as Siemens, Omron, or Mitsubishi - Especially TIA Portal
* Knowledge of industry standards such as GAMP, 21 CFR Part 11, Annex 11, and ANSI/ISA standards.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in data-driven decision-making.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, QA, and production teams.
* Interest in mentoring and helping build long-term technical capability on site.
