Psychiatric Nurse - Mental Health Services
Location: Merchants Quay Ireland Riverbank, Open Access Service (Riverbank, Open Access Service).
Employment type: Full-time – 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Sunday. Salary: €39,105 to €43,565 depending on relevant experience.
Overview
Provision of Psychiatric Nursing Services in an open access setting focused on individuals experiencing homelessness and addiction. The role is part of a multidisciplinary team delivering recovery‑focused mental health care, supporting clients toward long‑term recovery and housing stability through individualized care plans, advocacy and education.
Responsibilities
* Work with the Merchants Quay Ireland team to develop and implement mental health services and programmes for clients.
* Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualized, person‑centred care programmes.
* Advocate for clients, provide information to empower decision‑making, goal setting and problem‑solving, optimizing recovery chances.
* Develop and implement a recovery‑based programme (WRAP – Wellness, Recovery Action Plan) to support clients into long‑term mental health and out‑of‑homelessness.
* Participate in protocol and guideline development and professional nursing standards setting.
* Contribute to, implement, monitor and review risk assessments for clients.
* Maintain working knowledge of the Mental Health Act and National Drug Strategy applicable to the role.
* Provide education and information to clients and families as required.
* Collaborate in flexible, achievable care plans that are person‑centred and adhere to agreed guidelines.
* Referral for service users as relevant to identified goals.
* Perform relevant administrative tasks, keeping up‑to‑date case notes and monthly reporting.
Qualifications
* Required: Registered in the Psychiatric Division of the Register of Nurses and Midwives maintained by the NMBI.
* Desirable: Understanding of issues faced by clients living in homelessness with mental health and/or addiction issues, and experience managing a caseload of service users with complex needs.
Compensation and Benefits
* Salary: €39,105‑€43,565 (experience‑dependent).
* Full‑time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday‑Sunday.
