Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Ecologist to join our team in either the Cork, Dublin or Carlow offices. This is an ideal role for candidates with a minimum of seven years' experience in environmental consultancy.
About the Role
This position will involve managing individual contracts to ensure the delivery of high-quality ecological consultancy services. The successful candidate will gain exposure to a diverse range of projects across various sectors.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
* Managing individual contracts to ensure the delivery of high-quality ecological consultancy services
* Providing specialist ecological advice on various projects
* Planning, conducting, and overseeing site ecological surveys and fieldwork
* Preparing and supervising the implementation of Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMPs)
* Conducting Appropriate Assessments, Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIAs), Biodiversity Chapters for Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIARs) and other environmental reports
* Writing detailed technical reports and other project deliverables
* Ensuring quality control with a strong focus on accuracy, timelines, and continuous improvement of the Ecology team's output
* Acting as expert witness during Oral Hearings
* Building and maintaining strong client relationships and participating in meetings with clients and design teams as needed
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you should possess:
* A degree in ecology or a related discipline
* At least seven years of post-graduate experience in environmental consultancy
* Membership of CIEEM, CIWEM or a comparable professional body
* Experience in participating in oral hearing processes and serving as an expert witness
* Comprehensive knowledge of Irish wildlife and conservation legislation
* Strong technical report writing skills
* Proven experience in preparing and overseeing the implementation of Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMPs)
* Experience in collaborating within multi-disciplinary teams
* Excellent communication, organisational, and project management abilities
* A full, clean driving licence
