Job Description
We are looking for a senior-level IT Operations Engineer to provide hands-on management of production incident resolution, database/infrastructure/application production changes and operations knowledge base documentation. The role will collaborate with the IT development and DevOps engineering teams to improve upon the effectiveness of the DevOps tools and practices used in the IT operations function. The role requires being self-driven while working in a dynamic, multinational environment.
This role also leverages a dynamic hybrid work approach, with 3 days per week spent collaborating in-office to drive maximum productivity and innovation.
Responsibilities
Hands-on management and resolution of production incidents to meet defined SLAs
Define/document proposed change tickets for the production infrastructure, database and application configuration and present those changes to the Change Approval Board for approval before execution
Maintain a well-documented and up-to-date IT operations knowledge base
Leverage internal/external DevOps tools to execute the IT operations functions
Recommend IT operations practice and process improvements to the Head of Platform
Manage configuration of ticket, change, incident and knowledge base management tools to continuously improve IT operations
Collaborate with DevOps engineering teams to improve DevOps tools used in the IT operations function
Collaborate with development and DevOps engineering teams to define the scope, responsibility and monitoring tools required for an effective site reliability engineering function
Skills
5+ years of IT operations experience
Experience supporting Java-based applications and deployment/configuration of container-based services
Strong knowledge and experience in SQL and structuring efficient SQL queries
Expertise in configuring, operating and maintaining one or more 3rd party industry-leading incident/change management tools (ServiceNow, FreshService, etc)
Extensive experience in configuring, operating and maintaining 3rd party infrastructure and application monitoring DevOps tools
Past experience in generating and rotating SSL certificates and PGP keys
Ability to author detailed change tickets and present them to the Change Approval Board
Creating and maintaining an IT operations knowledge base
Usage experience with one or more industry-leading source code control systems (GitHub, GitLab, etc)
Familiarity with ITIL and ITSM concepts and best practices
