Job Description The Occupational Hygienist is responsible for leading efforts to recognize, evaluate and control chemical, physical and biological hazards on client sites throughout Ireland.
The candidate will ensure compliance with company policies and national occupational health and safety regulations.
Role and Responsibilities Undertake monitoring and interpret sampling results Develop and implement exposure monitoring and sampling plans that ensure compliance with current codes of practice and legislation Collaborate with operational areas to develop control measures for areas such as change in work procedures, ventilation systems, material substitution and evaluation of personal protective equipment Complete chemical agents risk assessments Evaluate and assess the correctness of Personal Protective in use Develop and administer occupational safety and health training as required Requirements Qualifications A third level qualification in related field (Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene) or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred 3-5 years' experience of progressive safety and training experience Certificate of Operational Competence or Diploma in Occupational hygiene or equivalent Relevant BoHS modules preferrable Experience and Abilities Experience working in highly regulated areas Ability to engage with stakeholders and influence positive outcomes Ability to train personnel preferrable Strong analytical skills including root cause/failure analysis methodology Strong communication skills both verbal and written Strong planning and organisational skills, ability to prioritise, maintain attention to detail and complete work to planned timelines Good IT skills Requirements Qualifications A third level qualification in related field (Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene) or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred 3-5 years' experience of progressive safety and training experience Certificate of Operational Competence or Diploma in Occupational hygiene or equivalent Relevant BoHS modules preferrable Experience and Abilities Experience working in highly regulated areas Ability to engage with stakeholders and influence positive outcomes Ability to train personnel preferrable Strong analytical skills including root cause/failure analysis methodology Strong communication skills both verbal and written Strong planning and organisational skills, ability to prioritise, maintain attention to detail and complete work to planned timelines Good IT skills
