A Snapshot Of Your Peer Group

At least 5 years’ previous experience, preferably in energy infrastructure or networks environment, technical energy role, or working in energy policy or regulation
A deep interest in energy infrastructure, networks and energy systems
A third level degree in a related subject such as Engineering, Maths, Physics, or Economics
Knowledge of the island of Ireland’s energy infrastructure networks and energy systems or an international equivalent
Experience with energy networks infrastructure investment decision making methods and a reliable understanding of business case development
Knowledge of energy systems modelling techniques including demand, generation and storage forecasting
Strong commercial awareness
Knowledge or understanding of renewable energy technologies including network connection policies and financial support schemes
Awareness of decarbonisation policy and NetZero policies in Ireland, Northern Ireland and in the EU
Awareness of regulatory requirements applicable to industries such as electricity, gas, water and transport
Awareness of wider perspective on ESG areas including the Green Procurement, Circular Economy and reporting requirements
Understanding or awareness of digital and flexibility (e.g. Smart grids)
The ability to use tools/platforms/languages such as Power BI, Tableau, Python or R would be an advantage
Experience of or exposure to Business Change in operations, asset management, capital projects, engineering or technology projects
Awareness of trends in digital approaches and improvements within Infrastructure sectors or Awareness of data and information frameworks such as BIM and Digital Twins
Insight on where trends in other sectors could be applied to Infrastructure would be an advantage

Working in teams in a hybrid environment across diverse and complex government and private sector infrastructure and client engagements
Utilising your industry experience to assist clients through support and advisory services
Analysing project and programme control and strategic processes, policies and procedures while validating key findings / observations to present key recommendations to the client in a succinct manner
Present reports in MS PowerPoint through concise / crisp presentation forms
Working on energy infrastructure engagements for different clients at any one time
Potential to be seconded into client firms to assist during high output project phases
Collaborate with team members internally and client managers externally to meet agreed deliverable milestones
Helping to manage the day-to-day relationship with key client contacts, ensuring our service is responsive to their needs
Managing the use and development of tools and methodologies across the team and within projects
Learning and developing your project control skills through close working relationships with more experienced colleagues
Engaging with global teams to leverage experience, resources, and capabilities
Ensuring KPMG's quality and risk management procedures are completed to the appropriate standard
Ensuring that the quality of our deliverables is of a high standard and compliant to ISO:9001
Applying innovative and creative techniques to solve complex problems on client engagements
