Big Data Engineer – 12 months contract (Extendable)

Key Responsibilities
Lifecycle Engagement: Improve the entire service lifecycle—from design and deployment to operation and refinement.
Reliability Focus: Ensure services are reliable, fault‑tolerant, and efficiently scalable while keeping costs in check.
Monitoring & Maintenance: Keep a watchful eye on service health by measuring availability, latency, and overall system performance. Participate in sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems.
Big Data Design: Design and implement robust, scalable big data systems that support our core products and business needs.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
Solid understanding of data structures, complexity analysis, and software design principles.
Familiarity with Hadoop, Spark, Flink, Kafka, ClickHouse, Hive, and related technologies.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of data ingestion, modelling, processing, ETL design, and dimensional modelling strategies.
Experience running production‑grade services at scale with an understanding of cloud‑native technologies and networking.
Proficiency in developing tools and APIs to minimize manual interaction with systems using various coding and scripting standards.
Expertise in designing, analysing, and troubleshooting large‑scale distributed systems is a plus.
