Security Officer Role
A security officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment within the premises. The role involves patrolling the area to prevent and detect signs of intrusion, ensuring the security of doors, windows, and gates.
The position also entails screening all callers before allowing them to enter the premises, monitoring and authorising entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons, and checking in deliveries and collections.
Additionally, the security officer will be responsible for answering telephone calls, responding to alarms, and investigating disturbances. They will also operate and monitor security equipment, report any breaches of procedure or unusual activity, and call the authorities as required in cases of emergency.
The security officer will maintain accurate records of daily activities and irregularities, including damage to property or equipment, theft, presence of unauthorised persons, or unusual activity. They will also control access to the company car park, monitor and record vehicle movements, and stop and search vehicles and individuals as necessary.
The ideal candidate will have at least two years' experience in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing environment. They must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, hold a current PSA license, and have a full driver's licence. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite is also essential.
