We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Hematology Key Account Manager to join a specialist team in Ireland. This senior field‑based role is responsible for driving the adoption and growth of our hematology portfolio across a defined territory, engaging with key stakeholders across hospital networks and specialist centres to develop long‑term strategic partnerships that optimise patient outcomes and achieve commercial objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial & Account Management
Develop and execute strategic key account plans for designated hematology accounts across Ireland, including academic medical centres and regional hospitals.
Achieve and exceed sales targets, market share goals, and performance KPIs for the hematology portfolio.
Identify, develop, and maintain relationships with key decision‑makers including Consultant Haematologists, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Pharmacists, and Procurement leads.
Lead negotiations and tender submissions in collaboration with the market access team to secure and maintain formulary listings.
Monitor competitor activity, market trends, and HSE reimbursement developments, providing timely insights to the commercial team.
Medical & Scientific Engagement
Deliver high‑quality, evidence‑based scientific presentations and product detailing to HCPs, aligned with Irish regulatory and compliance standards.
Collaborate with Medical Affairs to support medical education initiatives, advisory boards, and speaker programmes.
Stay current with clinical literature, treatment guidelines (e.g. EHA, ASH, BSH), and disease area developments in hematology.
Partner with cross‑functional teams including market access, MSLs, and marketing to deliver integrated account strategies.
Patient Access & Market Access
Work proactively with hospital pharmacy and multidisciplinary teams (MDTs) to facilitate patient access to therapy.
Support HSE reimbursement processes, including engagement with NCPE and NTPF pathways, and navigate drug access schemes where relevant.
Collaborate with patient advocacy organisations where appropriate to support disease awareness and patient support programmes.
Reporting & Administration
Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date CRM records (e.g. Veeva), including call logs, account plans, and pipeline activity.
Prepare regular business reviews and territory performance reports for line management.
Manage territory budget efficiently and in line with company policy and IPHA Code of Practice.
Essential Requirements
Minimum 3–5 years’ pharmaceutical sales experience, with at least 2 years in a specialist/hospital environment.
Demonstrable experience in hematology, oncology, or a related specialty therapeutic area.
Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets in a competitive specialist environment.
Strong understanding of the Irish healthcare system, HSE structures, hospital formulary processes, and reimbursement pathways.
Excellent relationship‑building, communication, and negotiation skills.
Ability to interpret and communicate complex clinical data to diverse stakeholder groups.
Full, clean Irish driving licence.
Life sciences degree (BSc, MSc, or equivalent) or equivalent professional experience.
Desirable Requirements
Experience with blood cancers (e.g. AML, CLL, MDS, myeloma, lymphoma) or rare haematological disorders.
Familiarity with IPHA Code of Practice and experience operating within a compliance‑driven environment.
Experience using Veeva CRM or equivalent system.
Established network of haematology contacts within Irish hospital centres.
Previous key account management or hospital sales experience in Ireland or the UK.
