Summary
A leading specialist subcontractor operating across the European Data Centre market is seeking to appoint an experienced Estimator to join their commercial team. The company delivers complex building envelope packages on large-scale, high-value mission-critical projects and is continuing to expand due to strong growth across Europe.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for the full commercial management of roofing and cladding packages on Data Centre projects, from tender stage through to final account. This is a head office based role with involvement in high-profile international projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Preparation of Bills of Quantities and detailed take-offs from architectural drawings and specifications
* Measurement and quantification using digital take-off software (e.g. Bluebeam or similar)
* Preparation and submission of tender pricing and commercial proposals
* Review of drawings, specifications and design information
* Procurement and negotiation with suppliers and specialist subcontractors
* Cost control, variations, valuations and final accounts
* Commercial reporting and cashflow forecasting
* Review of design proposals and development of value engineering solutions to optimise cost without compromising performance or compliance
* Liaison with clients, main contractors, design teams and supply chain partners
Requirements
* Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline (preferred)
* 5–10 years' experience in a similar commercial role, ideally within roofing, cladding, façade or building envelope packages
* Strong technical knowledge of roofing systems and materials (e.g. single ply, built-up, waterproofing, insulation systems from manufacturers such as Sika, Soprema, Moy Materials, etc.)
* Strong understanding of cladding and façade systems including composite panels, insulated panels and rainscreen systems from suppliers such as Kingspan, Euroclad, Paroc, Hoesch, Vivalda, Swisspearl and similar
* Ability to interpret architectural, structural and façade drawings and full technical specifications
* Proficient in Excel and commercial reporting
* Experience working on large-scale commercial, industrial or Data Centre projects would be a strong advantage
