Location: Tullow, Co. Carlow (onsite)

Job Type: Full-Time

Reports to: Operations Team Lead

Role:

T.E. Laboratories is currently seeking a flexible and motivated Production Chemist to join our innovative Production Department. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a laboratory accredited to the ISO 9001 Quality Standard, where high standards and continuous improvement are at the core of everything we do. The successful candidate will have the chance to get involved in both product development and quality control testing. Our reagents are manufactured to USP, EP, and BP specifications, offering a rewarding and technically engaging role for the right individual.

As a key member of our Production Department, you will play a vital role in the formulation and manufacture of chemical products, ensuring quality, consistency, and efficiency in all stages of production.

Shift: 08:30am to 17:00, Monday to Friday.

Who you are:

Detail-oriented with a strong focus on safety and compliance.

Skilled in troubleshooting and process optimization.

Results-driven with experience in SOPs and batch consistency.

Clear communicator across production, QC, and engineering teams.

Strong technical knowledge of reactions, instrumentation, and data analysis.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Manufacture chemical products to exact specifications, adhering to USP, EP, BP, GMP, and ISO 9001 standards.

Prepare raw materials and operate production equipment safely and efficiently per SOPs.

Accurately complete batch records, logbooks, and traceability documentation.

Collaborate with Quality, R&D, and Warehouse teams to support smooth production and timely delivery.

Assist in formulation scale-ups, product development, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised laboratory and production area, ensuring all chemical storage and waste disposal complies with regulatory guidelines.

Report deviations, non-conformances, and equipment malfunctions promptly, participating in investigations and corrective actions as required.

Participate in regular training to stay up to date with health & safety standards, production techniques, and quality procedures.

Experience & Qualifications:

Degree in Chemistry or related field, with strong academic foundation in chemical principles (studied Chemistry at Leaving Certificate or equivalent).

1–2 years' experience in chemical manufacturing or lab environment, including hands-on production and QC is an advantage.

Proficient in chemical handling, MSDS protocols, and safe storage/disposal practices.

Skilled in using ERP systems (e.g., SAP) for batch tracking, inventory, and raw material management.

Knowledgeable in chemical formulations and scaling lab processes to full production.

Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.

Adaptable team player with excellent time management and a commitment to continuous learning.

Flexibility and adaptability, willing to work in a fast-paced, ever-evolving production environment.

Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.

A willingness to undergo continuous learning and development projects through internal and external training programs to stay current with industry trends and innovations.
