A competitive opportunity exists for a Production Specialist with a leading Life Sciences organization based in Cork.


Job Overview

This is a pivotal role that reports directly to the Production Manager. Your primary responsibility will be to manage and operate equipment efficiently while prioritizing safety, quality, documentation, and compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).

You will be responsible for monitoring equipment performance, adjusting parameters as necessary to ensure consistent quality and yield according to procedure. Additionally, you will collaborate with other teams to troubleshoot issues with machinery and provide training and mentoring to colleagues.


Main Responsibilities:

* Handle materials from the warehouse to production, store/handle work-in-progress material, waste material handling, and dispose of recyclable waste.
* Support line opening and closing through material control and machine setup.
* Operate computerized equipment and machinery as per procedure.
* Implement the Life Science Production System (LSPS) and follow its 4 pillars once implemented.
* Support the qualification of new production lines as required.
* Inspect membrane and devices at various process steps according to procedure.
* Follow sampling requirements and record results accurately using high standards of GDP in our validated system.
* Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and GMP in the work area.
* Complete documentation and comply with relevant standards and GDP.
* Adhere to 6s principles within the production areas.
* Contribute to continuous improvement.
* Meet goals and objectives outlined by the company.
* Support the creation and update of production documentation.
* Develop proficiency/competency as applicable.
* Participate in sustainability efforts.
* Escalate issues to prevent excessive downtime/scrap material.

Additional responsibilities include strict compliance with all company policies and procedures, being flexible and willing to learn all aspects of the assigned area/process, and potentially traveling overseas for training purposes.


Requirements

* Leaving Certificate or equivalent education standard.
* Ability to learn multiple processes and mentor other team members.
* Proven verbal and written communication skills.
* Knowledge of GMP and Safety regulations.
* Problem-solving ability.
* Task prioritization.
* Good I.T. skills (MES, SAP, LIMS, etc.).
