Senior Civil Engineer/Project Manager – Salary: €70K - €85K DOE – Hours: Full time 5 days
Opportunity has now arisen for an experienced Civil Engineer to join a leading Civils & Utilities Main Contractor with projects in the Greater Dublin area.
The Client's Civils Division completes work on behalf of local authorities managing Road Widening, Junction Upgrades, new Bus Lanes, Cycle Ways and Utility works.

Responsibilities
Adhere to and maintain compliance with all Health and Safety procedures within your work, ensuring you are responsible for yourself and/or team members who report into you.
Set out on site to ensure that work progresses on time, all checks are carried out on a regular basis, and checking drawings and quantities for accuracy of calculations.
Monitor and interpret the contract design documents supplied by the client or architect.
Report to the Contract Manager, liaising closely with design, manufacturing, quality and safety teams, and with any consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors and the general workforce involved in the project.
Coordinate with clients and their representatives (architects, engineers and surveyors), including attending regular meetings to keep them informed of progress.
Plan work and efficiently organise site facilities to meet agreed deadlines, resolving any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise.
Develop and implement the Company Quality Management System while ensuring Quality and SAFE Delivery of the Project.
Attend daily meetings and communicate on Safety and quality, creating appropriate paperwork and reports: monthly quality KPI reports, construction feedback documents to measure manufacturing performance, compliance checking, accuracy to drawings, BCAR compliance record keeping, etc.
Carry out all pre-delivery inspections on all works and ensure defects are recorded, communicated and actions implemented to prevent re-occurrence.
Participate in project handover meetings and manage all inbound and outbound material deliveries.
Qualifications
Qualification/degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
10 years of Post-Qualification experience, 5 of which on Roads Projects in City or Suburban environments.
Experience working on contracts in a city or suburban environment, including coordination of various construction activities such as utility diversion works (e.g. watermains, drainage connections), temporary traffic management (e.g. live traffic, cyclists, pedestrians and other vulnerable road users), landscaping and street furniture.
