This is a two-year fixed-term contract with immediate impact on a significant development. The ideal candidate will bring a proactive mindset, a collaborative approach, and strong coordination skills across trades, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Responsibilities for General Foreperson
1. Oversee day-to-day site operations, ensuring all health and safety protocols are rigorously upheld.
2. Monitor the delivery schedule and take early action to mitigate potential delays.
3. Attend and contribute to daily whiteboard meetings to align team efforts.
4. Carry out continuous inspections on-site to uphold quality standards and resolve issues swiftly.
5. Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and civil/groundworks contractors to ensure smooth delivery of works.
6. Maintain detailed records including daily labour/material allocation sheets.
7. Coordinate logistics including pedestrian and vehicle routes, ensuring safe and efficient site movement.
8. Take charge of works from foundation through to 2nd fix, external finishes, boundary walls, paving, and landscaping.
9. Use site coordination and logistics software to manage labour, machinery, and material flows.
10. Support environmental compliance, liaising with engineers to maintain accurate waste management records.
11. Act as a brand ambassador on site, promoting a strong customer-first culture.
Requirements for General Foreperson
12. Trade background preferred with a solid understanding of residential construction phases.
13. Strong track record in delivering quality results within tight deadlines.
14. Clear communicator, both written and verbal, with strong interpersonal skills.
15. Highly organised and detail-oriented with a methodical approach.
16. Self-driven, with the ability to manage responsibilities independently.
17. Capable of juggling multiple site priorities while maintaining focus on key milestones.
