Senior Software Architect – Valeo
Design and lead next generation software for Automated Parking, ADAS Domain Controller and IVI systems.
Mission
Technically lead a team of architects and engineers, ensuring project goals and deliverables are met with high quality and on time. Lead design decisions, coordinate technical discussions with customers and suppliers, and identify new tools, platforms and standards.
Responsibilities
* Provide solutions for complex software design problems.
* Technical design and implementation of ADAS, AD and IVI systems on high‑performance SoC platforms (Qualcomm, NVIDIA, Renesas).
* Collaborate with domain experts across SoC/Hardware, Firmware, Safety, Security and Algorithms to define functional specifications, modular software components, interaction models, interfaces, resource management and debugging tools.
* Lead system‑level profiling and optimization of end‑to‑end use cases, identify and address bottlenecks across heterogeneous computational units.
* Engage with OS and framework vendors, automotive OEMs, Tier‑1s and ISVs to implement solutions on high‑performance platforms.
* Evaluate, identify and develop solutions for new and changed requirements.
* Identify and provide directions for solving critical issues in software and hardware solutions.
* Decompose and allocate software requirements to different teams and architects.
* Contribute to software design reviews and process improvement activities.
* Complete scheduled tasks within assigned projects to deliver as per agreed timing plan.
* Maintain SPICE (ISO15504) compliance for all relevant processes, particularly ENG.4 and ENG.5.
* Act as the single point of contact for architectural decisions across multiple teams.
* Support estimation, change request and feasibility analysis.
* Mentor and train software architects on the assigned project.
* Maintain KPI lists regarding traceability and coverage.
* Lead communication with customers regarding technical topics.
Qualifications
* Honours degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
* Master’s or PhD level qualification is an advantage.
* 4+ years experience in software architecture and design.
* 15 years Embedded software development ideally in automotive industry.
* Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
* Strong communication and reporting skills.
* Experience in process models (e.g. Automotive SPICE®).
* Experience in Safety‑Critical Design/development is an added advantage.
Education / Training
* Strong in C/C++, RTOS, Embedded Systems.
* Strong understanding of QNX/Linux operating system and hands‑on experience with QNX/Linux kernel configuration, boot sequence analysis, CPU load analysis and timing analysis.
