Job Description:
Administers, monitors and maintains security software to control viruses, malware and spam. Research and recommend methods for preventing and controlling viruses, malware and spam.
Administers, monitors and maintains the virtual server environment.
Provides support and recommendations for users of Microsoft Office and Office 365 applications and configurations.
Follows, enforces and recommends changes for policies and procedures related to the network infrastructure.
Answers incoming Help Desk support calls; assist store personnel having difficulty using or inquiring how to use the computer system and related hardware; logs all incoming Help Desk calls into system.
Provides network support, education, training, and information to users regarding use of network and network functions, failure of and resetting equipment, computer operations, procedures, and other related issues and concerns.
Talks to user to learn procedures followed and source of error; keys each problem/incident into the Help Desk program for tracking purposes; alerts supervisor of common/recurring problems.
Configures, installs and repairs computer network systems, hardware equipment, and peripheral devices including mainframes, personal computers, monitors, printers, disks, bridges, routers, keyboards, modems, and scanners; tests and evaluates new hardware.
Installs new software programs; upgrades existing programs; repairs software problems.
Identifies, researches, and resolves network problems; consults with co-workers and utilizes user and technical manuals, manufacturers' service bulletins, and Internet resources to assist with troubleshooting, diagnosing, installation and servicing equipment and systems.
Completes diagnostic procedures to detect technical problems and to ensure efficient operations; facilitates repair of failed network system; establishes printing capabilities, network communications, and remote access capabilities.
Monitors working condition of company computer equipment; visits store locations to perform routine service, preventive maintenance, and installations and/or to troubleshoot equipment/network failures; coordinates travel plans to company store facilities with store personnel and/or managers. Climbing a ladder to assist with trouble shooting and installing cellular near the roof of the stores as needed.
Receives computer-related materials and equipment; tests computer equipment returned from outside repair vendor or from company stores for operational performance; packs and ships replacement supplies and computer equipment to company stores.
Maintains documentation of system activities, operations, modifications, maintenance, and other activities following prescribed methods and procedures; distributes documentation or maintains records as appropriate.
Maintains inventory of departmental supplies; peruses catalogs, research prices, determines availability, and obtains price quotes for supplies and equipment; initiates orders for computer parts, new materials or replacement supplies.
Completes required forms to order goods, request vendor services, transfer inventory assets, and track expenses.
Prepares and/or receives various forms, reports, correspondence, purchase requests, drawings, registration forms, or other documents; reviews, completes, processes, forwards, maintains, and/or takes other action as appropriate.
Maintains a working knowledge of a variety of operating systems and software programs to operate and network computers in an efficient and effective manner; attends workshops and training sessions as appropriate.
Maintains an awareness of new products, trends, and advances in the profession; reads professional literature and trade publications.
Operates a computer terminal, printer, calculator, copy and facsimile machines, telephone, radio, or other equipment necessary to complete essential functions, to include the use of word processing, spreadsheet, database, or other system software.
Skills:
* Working knowledge of Networking Protocols, Windows 7 and up, Windows Server 2003 and up, Microsoft Office 2007 and up
* Knowledge of network design, implementation and troubleshooting
* WAN and VOIP experience
* Experience in personal computer repair
* Good organizational skills
* Good oral and written communication skills
