About Us
Hugh Jordan is a leading supplier to the catering and hospitality industry across Ireland and the UK. As part of our continued investment in service and support, we are now seeking a skilled Refrigeration Engineer to join our growing team. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring high standards of installation, maintenance and aftersales support for our commercial refrigeration equipment, primarily in the Leinster area, but with occasional travel across the country.
Key Responsibilities
· Install, commission and maintain commercial refrigeration at customer sites
· Diagnose and repair faults in refrigeration units, including bottle coolers, undercounters, multidecks, and coldrooms
· Support the installation and maintenance of associated catering equipment, particularly warewashing systems (dishwashers, glasswashers, etc.)
· Carry out preventative maintenance checks and respond to emergency breakdowns
· Complete all service paperwork, reports, and documentation in line with company and regulatory standards
· Work closely with procurement, logistics, and customer service teams to ensure a seamless customer experience
· Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety standards and F-Gas regulations
· There will be a requirement to carry out service on company premises of in-house brands of light catering equipment from time to time
Essential Requirements
· Relevant Irish Qualification in Refrigeration or Air Conditioning (e.g. QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate – Craft in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning or equivalent)
· F-Gas Certification (City & Guilds 2079 or equivalent, in line with EPA regulations in Ireland)
· Full, clean Irish driving licence
· Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
· Ability to work independently with excellent attention to detail
· Good communication and customer-facing skills
· Willingness to travel across Ireland as required
Desirable Experience
· Previous experience working with catering and hospitality equipment, particularly warewashing units
· Experience installing and servicing both plug-and-play and hardwired refrigeration units
· Familiarity with commercial kitchens, catering fit-outs or facility management
· Basic plumbing and electrical skills an advantage
