We are seeking an innovative and forward-thinking Senior Software Engineer in Test (SDET) who is passionate about building a world-class platform through a world-class team.
You will be leading the quality practice within the team, setting a high quality bar for our users and customers.
To achieve that you will focus on optimizing our test environment, automation, and overall process and standards.
What You'll Do:
Be the team's quality leader, mentor, and coach
Develop a sustainable quality strategy and drive accountability and ownership to maintain these practices
Seek ways to enhance team operations, processes, methodologies, and technology choices, striving for excellence
Establish the metrics, standards, and procedures to achieve quality confidence
Foster a culture of shared responsibility for quality
Mentor junior engineers on test design, automation techniques, and best practices
Share your enthusiasm for tech trends, explore and learn new technologies, and engage in communities of practice
Stay current on emerging testing tools, best practices, and quality assurance trends
Drive the "shift level" methodology within the team
Catching issues early and often in the development lifecycle
Reducing the cost and time to achieve quality confidence
Act as a gatekeeper for quality, ensuring all code passes necessary tests before merging and deployment
Participate in the team's YBIYRI model (you-build-it-you-run-it), which includes participating in their on-call pager rotation.
Be a voice of the user/customer
Representing the user experience and performance they expect
Understanding the system "inside out" by knowing its requirements while knowing how users get value from the product
Be an integral part of daily validation of customer-impacting workflows
Test planning & strategy development
Design comprehensive, well-structured software test plans and lead the implementation of a test automation strategy, covering the entire testing pyramid (unit, service/API, integration, and end-to-end UI testing) to verify feature functionality for customer use cases
CI/CD pipeline integration
Collaborate with DevOps to integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines, ensuring thorough test coverage at every stage of development and enabling swift delivery of features
Troubleshooting & debugging
Demonstrate excellent troubleshooting abilities, isolate issues, and verify bug fixes
Debug issues found during testing and after release
Test tool & infrastructure development
Deploy/build tools and infrastructure to support efficient, high-quality testing
Focus on optimizing our testing environment to increase test velocity and stability
Research and introduce new tools to improve test coverage, speed, and reliability
Leverage observability tools and logging to troubleshoot and resolve issues across development, test, and production environments
Collaboration & coordination
Collaborate closely within Product & Engineering to identify and implement strategic improvements to increase quality and stability of product
Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities to meet deadlines

Essential Knowledge / Experience:
Test Automation & Frameworks
Strong knowledge of test automation methodologies, tools, and frameworks
Hands-on experience with UI automation frameworks (Selenium, Cypress) and API testing tools (Postman, REST Assured)
Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Gatling) and test case management systems
Scripting & Programming
Proficiency in at least one programming language and strong scripting skills
Ideally: C#/.
NET, JavaScript, TypeScript, Gherkin, and Python
Microservices & Cloud
Experience with cloud technologies, containerized and serverless applications
Ideally: Azure
CI/CD & Version Control
Deep understanding of software release processes
Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (Git)
Strong analytical skills to assess and optimize workflows and processes
Contract & Integration Testing
Familiarity with contract testing (e.g., Pact) and tools like TestContainers for simulating environments and verifying interactions
5+ years of technical experience
Preferred Knowledge / Experience:
Implementing CI/CD pipelines within Azure DevOps
Azure native services (e.g. Service Bus, Function Apps, etc.)
Experience in the financial industry is a plus
