About the Role
Summary of the job: As part of the IPT team, perform various production and operations related tasks as part of an empowered team to aid in the manufacture and reliable supply of product. Ensure that objectives are effectively achieved, consistent with Merck's requirements to ensure compliance, safety and reliable supply to our customers.
Responsibilities
* Operate and monitor production equipment (washers, autoclaves, filling machines, etc.) using MES/DCS and PLC systems to ensure maximum uptime and output.
* Manage equipment flow, tracking hold times, labeling, and inventory of sterile equipment using Kanban and automated MES systems.
* Maintain process equipment, perform preventative maintenance, and carry out repairs where qualified.
* Responsible for clean room cleaning, housekeeping, and materials management using Lean Principles.
* Participate in Kaizen events, investigations, and root cause analysis (FMEA, Fishbone, 5 Whys) to resolve system issues.
* Write, revise, and roll out operational procedures (SOPs) and training materials.
* Execute tasks in line with cGMP, Merck Global Policies, and safety programs; obtain and maintain necessary safety certifications.
* Participate in Tier 1 meetings (start/end of shift) and highlight roadblocks regarding safety, quality, or delivery in a timely manner.
Qualifications
* Leaving Certificate or equivalent required.
* An Apprenticeship, Certificate, or Diploma in a related discipline is preferred.
Required Skills
* A Right First Time (RFT) mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and Lean principles.
* Ability to act proactively without direction and understand factory priorities/schedules via RTMS.
* Able to perform routine day-to-day problem-solving independently or as part of a team.
* Ability to become fully certified and proficient on all equipment, processes, and tasks within the assigned room.
* Strong collaborative skills to drive a safe and compliant culture.
