Brewery Operations Assistant

Based at the brewery, with off-site work required (deliveries and line cleaning)
Job Summary
Blarney Brewing Company is seeking a hands-on Brewery Operations Assistant to support day-to-day operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys physical work, variety, and learning the craft brewing process. The position involves assisting in the brewery including on brewing and packaging days, as well as working outside the brewery on beer line cleaning and deliveries.
Key Responsibilities
Brewery Operations:
Assist the brewer on brewing days, including:
* Preparing ingredients and equipment
* Cleaning and sanitising vessels and tools
* General cellar and brewhouse support
Assist on packaging days, including:
* Kegging, canning, and/or bottling beer
* Labelling, packing, and preparing finished product
* Maintaining cleanliness of the packaging area
* Follow all hygiene, safety, and quality procedures at all times
External Operations:
* Carry out beer line cleaning at customer premises to a high standard
* Assist with deliveries, including loading and unloading kegs and packaged beer
* Represent the brewery professionally when dealing with customers
General Duties:
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the brewery and storage areas
* Support stock management and inventory tasks
* Assist with ad-hoc operational tasks as required
Skills & Experience
Essential:
* Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
* Ability to carry out manual and physical work (lifting kegs, standing for long periods)
* Full, clean driving licence
* Good attention to detail and cleanliness
* Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently when required
Desirable (but not essential):
* Previous experience in a brewery, food & beverage production, or warehousing
* Interest in craft beer and brewing
* Experience with deliveries or customer-facing work
Personal Attributes:
* Practical and hands-on
* Positive attitude and team-oriented
* Comfortable working in varied environments (brewery, cellars, customer sites)
* Flexible and adaptable to changing daily tasks
Working Conditions:
* Mix of indoor brewery work and off-site work
* Early starts may be required on brewing or delivery days
* Some weekend or flexible hours may be required depending on production needs
