Job summary
We are currently seeking Home Support Workers on a locum basis to provide one‑on‑one support for families in their own homes and in the community. Locations include:
Mallow, Co. Cork
Glantane, Co. Cork
Fermoy, Co. Cork
Kanturk, Co. Cork
Newmarket, Co. Cork
Charleville, Co. Cork
Mitchelstown, Co. Cork
Requirements
QQI Level 5 qualification in healthcare or a relevant field (full award) or completion of one of the following courses: Care Skills (5N2770), Care of the Older Person (5N2706), Personal Effectiveness (5N1390) & Infection Prevention & Control (5N3734).
Experience working with children or adults in the field of intellectual disability.
Full manual driving licence and access to personal transport.
A genuine passion for supporting individuals with disabilities and helping them maximise their quality of life.
Responsibilities
Be responsible for the general wellbeing of the adult/child while in your care.
Implement the individual programme/care plan as appropriate, following instruction from the Multi‑Disciplinary Team.
Assist with clothing, feeding, toileting and general hygiene as required.
Ensure all interactions with the adult/child and the family are approached with dignity and respect.
Respect the privacy of the adult/child at all times.
Keep adequate reports as requested.
Promote a positive awareness of disability in the community.
Report all safeguarding concerns to the Designated Officer and line manager.
