At AXA Group, Data & AI plays a major role in enabling our business. As a Data Engineer within the CLP (Credit & Lifestyle Protection) Data team, you will provide support to CLP Business for Reports and Data extracts that meet AXA CLP Data reporting requirements using the core insurance IT platform - primarily Oracle data extracts, and leverage modern Azure capabilities (Datalake, Databricks, Power BI).

Your primary mission is to develop and implement production analytical systems on key AXA Partners data projects until they reach business actionable consumption, ensuring the operationality of the key analytical components at the right level to meet AXA Data Strategy's ambitions.

You will be part of the overall Data Partners community, acting as a key member of the Data Engineering Network.


Key Responsibilities

1. Develop and Maintain Oracle PL/SQL Scripts: Create and maintain Oracle PL/SQL scripts and stored procedures to meet business requirements.
2. Collaborate with the Team: Work with the team to design and develop reporting solutions using PL/SQL, SQL, and Oracle Report Builder.
3. Optimize Existing Queries: Optimize existing SQL, PL/SQL queries and procedures for maximum performance.
4. Participate in Database Design: Participate in database design and planning activities.
5. Troubleshoot Issues: Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to PL/SQL, Oracle Database, and Report Builder.
6. Design and Implement Dataflows: Design and implement Dataflows and DataMart's on a Azure platform.
7. Configure Databricks Clusters: Configure Databricks Clusters and maintain Databricks Notebooks in SQL and Python.
8. Ensure Data Integrity: Ensure data integrity and security in all database applications.
9. Support BAU Activities: Support all Business-As-Usual (BAU) activities, including running reports, reconciling data, and identifying anomalies.
10. Work Independently: Ability to work on own initiative and take responsibility for delivery of high-quality solutions.
11. Guarantee CLP IT Data Analytics Sustainability: Guarantee CLP IT Data Analytics assets sustainability and bring expertise on related reporting topics.
12. Liaise with the Community: Liaise with the community of people involved in BI and Data Analytics.
13. Identify Improvements: Identify and drive improvements to the current processes and new development work.
14. Maintain Documentation: Responsible for creating and maintaining documentation, documenting changes to systems, and producing documentation for new solutions.
15. Resolve Issues Independently: Ability to work on own initiative and work on issues till resolution.


Your Profile


Technical/Functional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

1. Critical Skills: Critical to this role are Oracle Database, PL/SQL, SQL, and Oracle Reporting suite experience.
2. Complex PL/SQL Experience: Experience in complex PL/SQL, SQL writing and troubleshooting.
3. Big Data Environments: First-hand knowledge about Big Data Environments, Azure Cloud Datalake, Databricks, Spark.
4. Azure DevOps CI/CD: Experience with Azure DevOps CI/CD implementation and use.
5. Reporting Role Experience: Proven experience in a reporting role and use of self-service or classical BI Technologies (SSIS, SSAS, AAS, DAX, VS, PBI etc.).
6. Big Data Solutions: A proven track record of developing Big Data solutions.
7. Entrepreneurial Spirit: Entrepreneurial, team, and can-do spirit, able to work unsupervised and with problem-solving skills, constantly striving for effective solutions.
8. Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, including ability to impart technical information from stakeholders when necessary and translate into reporting requirements.
9. Task Management: Ability to manage numerous tasks simultaneously and plan time according to priorities and deadlines.
10. Data Analysis: Experience with high volume data analysis with proven experience in change management.
11. Simplifying Complex Reports: Strong analytical and computational skills with ability to simplify complex reports when communicating outside the immediate team.
12. Customer-Centric Approach: Customer-centric with quick reactivity on issues or changing requirements to deliver a high level of service.
13. Agile Mindset: Working with an Agile mindset in an international, multicultural, and complex environment with high willingness to share, teach, and advise.
14. Solution Design: Experience in solution design including the analysis of business requirements and implementation of change.


Education, Professional Qualifications and Experience

1. Third-Level Qualification: Third-level qualification in IT or a technical-related discipline is preferred.
2. Oracle Experience: Oracle database, Oracle PL/SQL, Oracle Reporting suite - with at least 4 years hands-on experience.
3. Microsoft Office Products: Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office products, particularly Microsoft Excel, required.
4. Insurance/Banking Background: Insurance/banking background would be of an advantage.
